Bessie came to Saving Grace in February 2019. Someone reached out to us because they had witnessed Bessie being abused. She is incredibly fearful, especially of men. Her abuser was a man, and just the sound of a man’s voice has a visible physical effect on Bessie. It’s truly heartbreaking. She is very sweet and desperately wants human affection, but she is so afraid. It requires patience and sitting with her, and a soft voice to get her to come to you. She would greatly benefit from a foster home. She has done well with the dogs we’ve introduced her to so far. Bessie is a young adult.  She goes for weekend outings with one of our volunteers and does very well with house training, crating, and just overall home life. Once she trusts you, Bessie really comes out of her shell.  Please contact us if you’re interested in meeting Bessie.
